For me, it's hard to divorce a wine's price when I attempt to rate it. In my opinion, the price of the wine can serve as context in which to approach the wine from a critical perspective. With regard to this wine, which I very much enjoyed, the relatively low price (I paid around $13) ultimately increases its rating. If this wine cost $50 I might be disappointed, but at anything less than $20, I wish I'd bought a case. I concur with the tasting notes of the previous reviewers concerning the specific characteristics of the wine. Nice fruit, chewy, ripe, with a really interesting tar aroma.

Being a wine lover from the Carolinas, I've had a lot of North Carolina wine, and I must say that this is one of the best-if not THE best-NC white that I've tasted. I ordered two bottles on a hunch and was not disappointed. Mineral/lemon/asparagus nose with a nice crisp green apple flavor. Very well balanced, not overly acidic, in fact this wine has a smooth, long finish. Also as an aside, a bottle of this was given as a gift from President Obama to Italian President Giordio Napolitano as part of the G8 summit.

Good, drank with Hogue Genesis Merlot. This wine is slightly sweeter, and with softer tannins. But, the Hogue had a better nose. Still very tasty.

Bought three bottles of this at the winery. Very good, best of all their whites, and surprisingly better than their normal Chard. Light, refreshing, fruity, and not overly buttery.
