    Michael at MAX's Review:

Tahbilk 2004 MARSANNE Opened 29/10/09Hard to knock this wine, I have been drinking this wine since it was $6.99 a bottle now it's a little more, but it never fails to please. If you happen to stumble over an older one, buy it and be ready to be impressed: Nose: Honeyed hints of old wood, opening to a clean nose. No sign of spoilage. Colour: Molten straw with a golden green shimmer. In the mouth: I need to state, I drink white wines at a warmer tempter than most people. This wine offers a rich mouth full of soft citrus that cleans the palate with a light acid finish.Dam good booze at a give away price.Still only $17.00

SOAVE TAMELLINI 2005opened 17/10/09A Totally brilliant wine, golden in colour with the softest warm lanolin, honeyed nose.A pleasing gentle acid fills the mouth, in balance with warm Italian lemons that linger on the long silky mineral finish. This wine has improved beyond my exportations, as it was not overly expensive when purchased. Just loved this wine..

HOWARD PARKMargaret River2001 Cab/Sav Opened 15/10/09Dry dark fruit & Old vines on the nose Beautiful dusty dry flavored Cabernet fruit in the mouth; this wine has aged beautifully. There is pleasing ripeness mid palate, the fruit and tannins have softened with age but not faded. This wine rewards cellaring, A wine that was well under $20.00 is now as good as any $50 or $60 wine in the store 96% Cab3% Merlot1% Cab/Franc Good Booze

    Michael at MAX's Review:

1990 Grange8/10/09The nose has a pronounced Grange Signature even at this stage, still very drinkable the wine was clearly old but not fading just ageing gracefully, mid weight on the palate the fruit was dry but still had flavour. Others voted it the wine of the night and gave it a high score, either way it was a wine experience worth the wait.

    Michael at MAX's Review:

THE DON Crystal Hill Shiraz 2001Opened 09/09/09No sign of age on the rim, the wine is so dark you could cut it. Big nose: Fruit, wood, earth all trying to get out at the same time. In the mouth: Ripe tangy, fruit tannins that build from a dry watery mouth full of a cool plumb, bound tightly in well handled new oak displaying dusty tannins that refuse to lose any flavour on the long finish.
