Added Apr 21, 2012 at 1:00amDark ruby. A classic expression of left-bank Bordeaux with blackcurrant, black cherry, leather, cedar, and cloves characteristics. Tannins have calmed down, so it's starting to drink nicely now, but still has lots of life left in it as well (note that we tasted from a Magnum).

Added Apr 21, 2012 at 12:57amDeep ruby color. Wonderful, almost Bordeaux-like aromas with blackcurrant, raspberry, bell pepper, violet, and hints of tobacco and chocolate. Medium to high acidity, medium to full body and intensity, and medium, rounded tannins. Blackcurrant, black pepper, plum, and chocolate on the palate. Well balanced and a good value at this price point.

Added Apr 21, 2012 at 12:56amBeautiful nose, with blackcurrant, spice, leather, and cigar box. Blackcurrant on the palate too, as well as red cherries, earthy notes, spice, medium+ acidity, and fairly grippy tannins still, so will keep the other bottle in the cellar for a few years still. Nice complexity and excellent length.

Added Apr 21, 2012 at 12:54amI had not had the opportunity to try a Quarts de Chaume before, so this was special. High intensity with raisin, passion fruit, honey, caramel, and medicinal notes. Good acidity makes it stand up well and provides balance to the sweetness. Has quite a few years ahead of it.
