This light bodied varietal definitely stands on its own as a casual drinking wine or equally well with food. A deep ruby color with a slightly buttery bouquet with red currants or possible strawberries. Flavors of ripe fruit just a little under the tannins with a short, slightly mineral finish. This wine was a refreshing change from a California Pinot. The tannins were much more prominent that what I am used to from local selections. A nice table wine with BBQ or a pasta dinner with friends.
