Feb 9 at 5:09pm
Added Feb 9 at 5:09pmThis unique wine bounds with natures abundance. 100% Frappato. opens up with a glowing nose of red fruits like just ripe red plums, strawberries and raspberries, but then reveals caramel and deeper plum flavors. Medium body but completely fulfilling with a persistent finish. Paired very well with Sicilian cheese, Primo Sale Pepato and an aged Pecarino, as well as very hearty pork stew.

Added Feb 9 at 4:45amI had really forgotten how much I love Alsatian wine. This one brought back the love. Full of creamy raisin fruit flavors with lime zest solid from nose to swallow, richly dimensional with a crisp structured finish.

Added Nov 18, 2012 at 7:05amHad the wonderful opportunity to taste the current vintage, 2010, of this fabulous wine. This luscious rich wine is has nice citrus with lemon and grapefruit, lots of tropical fruit flavors with honey and hints of almond and a silky almost unctuous quality. I adore it and so has every one I've poured it for. http://www.manoavino.com/2012/11/feudo-di-principi-butera-the-place-the-people-food-and-wine.html

Dec 23, 2012 at 10:40am
Added Dec 23, 2012 at 10:40amWe also sipped a wine from just east of Campania in Puglia called Tormaresca Neprica, a softer, more fruity wine made with a blend of the grapes Negroamaro, Primitivo, and Cabernet Sauvignon with intense ruby red with violet hues, red fruits, black-cherry with light violet notes. Both went so very well with our dinner. Found them at Gary's Wine in Wayne. Next time I am bringing some white wine too.

Lists: Will Try Again
Added Oct 10, 2012 at 7:14amA friend poured this wine for me last night. I was hesitant to open it because knowing their taste I thought it would be an expensive bottle. I never open expensive bottles during the week. I tasted it and still thought it was an expensive bottle. Very nice. I don't know much about Portuguese wines but was convinced that this was a good one. Actually it was the 2009 vintage. It is a blend of Castelao and Aragonez grapes, both indigenous to the Estremadura region of western Portugal. It pours with a dark glistening purple color. It was rich but the flavors delicate black cherry, prune and smoke and spice. Verynice minerality, acidity and fine tannins. No after affects that some times come with inexpensive wine which it turns out this one is. Will look for this again.

Lists: Will Try Again, Favorites
Added Sep 30, 2012 at 7:41pmIt was love at first sight when I saw the beautifully classic label of this wine at Aria Wine Bar in Greenwich Village, NYC, NY. Roberto offered me a taste and my attraction was confirmed. All the beauty that a single grape wine can have is here. Deep black cherry flavors with prevalent yet gentle tannins. Easy to drink, a great food wine. I will be looking to bring this one home.
