    MTB's Review:

A deep garnet color, this is a medium-bodied wine with a soft nose with nice notes of cherry. In the mouth, cherry is again the predominant note with a pleasant vanilla finish from the oak.

    MTB's Review:

A blend of Rubiana grape with a bit of Merlot, this was a surprisingly pleasant drinkable table wine. Garnet colored, the nose is lovely with rich cherry notes and that "sea-air tang" that I often find in northeastern reds. Aged for one year in French oak, the wine is on the light side of medium-bodied with subtle notes of cherry and light spice on the end which provides an interesting finish.

    MTB's Review:

The nose was lovely (in my notes I actually underlined lovely several times) with that rich, deep sweetness that you so often get from Vidal Blanc grapes. In the mouth, the wine is smooth and rich, with soft notes of apricot. Definitely a nice dessert wine, the Sirrius would also be good sipped on its own as an aperitif.

While I'd probably rank this in the middle of the pack of New England Cab Francs I've tasted to date, I did enjoy this wine. A lovely garnet color that caught the light nicely, the wine has an interesting plum & pepper nose. In the mouth, the wine has notes of black currants and a touch of grassiness. The oak brings out notes of musty leather in the nose and an earthiness in the mouth that provides a sharp, dry finish.

Aged in small American and French oak barrels, the Fume Vidal is a drier and more aggressive wine than the Vidal Blanc. The grapefruit notes in both the nose and the mouth are stronger, and the oak brings out sharper, richer fruit notes with a light toasty finish.

  • MTB's Review:

Made from 100% Vidal Blanc grapes aged in stainless steel with no oak, the wine has that lovely "vidal" nose - bright and fruity, with lovely notes of grapefruit. The wine is smooth, crisp and very refreshing, with notes of grapefruit and a slight sweetness that balances out the grapefruity tartness.

    MTB's Review:

This limited edition wine, is 100% Chardonnay aged 18 months in brand new French oak barrels. The result is a richer, deeper and more buttery wine than the Sharpe Hill American Chardonnay. The color, while also a pale yellow has some jewel-tone qualities, catching the light nicely. The nose has lovely notes of butter and smoke, and the wine has a soft, smooth mouth-feel. The finish has a touch of both sweetness and acid which balance the smoke, producing a very satisfying wine.

Aged in American oak for six-eight months, this is a drier wine than the Ballet of Angels. Also pale yellow in color, the nose is grassy with a pleasant mustiness from the oak. The wine has an earthiness that I haven't found too often in Connecticut wines, they tend more towards the fruity rather than the earthy, but this wine has lovely notes of green pepper which are balanced by a slightly acidic finish. All in all a very nice wine.

Ballet of Angels is a blend of 10 different grapes, with Viognier the primary grape. A pale yellow, not quite straw color, the wine has a pleasant, slightly sweet nose with notes of grapefruit. In the mouth, the wine is crisp, clean and light-bodied with lovely notes of citrus and very clean finish. While a dry wine, the wine has a brightness that will appeal to even those who prefer sweet wines.

  • MTB's Review:

A port-style dessert wine with rich notes of chocolate in both the nose and the mouth. Very smooth, I found it not as rich as other ports and the mouth feel wasn't quite as lush as I expect. Made from 100% estate-grown St. Croix grapes, despite being a dessert wine, the Pontefract retains that interesting final bite that one finds so often with St. Croix.
