Surprisingly good wine for such a reasonable price. Velvety with a strong berry pleasant after taste with notes of vanilla and traces of blackcurrent and plum

Drank a bottle in 2015. Paid 20 CHF for a wine worth 2. Characterless is how i would describe it. Very disappointing

I drank a bottle of this in 2014 for my 46th birthday. We decanted it for 2 hours before drinking. It was exceptionally good. It was as good as it would have been at its best. Amazing that this wine can age so well.

I recently opened a bottle of this wine in October 2012. The wine was 36 years old so my expectations were not so high. It was quite a surprise and proof to me that good German wine can last a long long time - as long as the best French. I let the wine breath for aprox 30 min before serving it. Then it had wonderful flavors of figs and apricots with a lingering taste of Acacia honey and gooseberry. We put the bottle away for the night after resealing it and proceeded to finish it the following night. Now the wine had developed more and taken on a distinctly rhuebarb and light honey flavor with a lingering taste of cold but smooth tea. All in all a delightful experience bearing in mind i had spend $12 for the bottle.

When you drink a wine like this it is a moment you will cherish for many years. An amazing experience. Balance to perfection, smooth beyond belief. Blackberries mixed with redcurrent mixed with plum all mixed with lovely silky velvet. One of the best wines i have ever tasted. In the ranks of an Opus One, Grange, Sassicia or Vega Sicilla. Amongst the best wine you will ever taste.

Drinking it in 2012 the wine was surprisingly good. Good well balanced wine with flavours of blueberry, blackberry and plums. A nice wine especially with a strong read meat dish.

I drank a bottle of this in Sept 2012 and it is silky and velvety in abundance. Some slight plumb wrapped in slik with some slight tobacco wrapped in silk with some chocolate warpped in silk while all wrapped in velvet. Very nice. Enjoyed a lot.

Recently drank a bottle from 2001 and it is very tired and well past its best - if it ever was good. The flavours were absent and dead.
