The Apothic Red was quite aromatic and had a nose dominated by blackberry, vanilla, and cherry. The palate was like drinking dessert. Sweet, ripe, and very chocolatey. Lots of flavor, but not much structure. Medium-minus acidity, fairly low tannins, and a short finish. For lack of a better descriptor, Apothic tastes manufactured, like a mass-produced Australian wine. Read more about Apothic and other wine reviews at: www.winedinewith.us

The nose is loaded with fresh crushed strawberry and cranberry, and a hint of spice. The medium plus acidity overshadows any tannins. It is fresh and young and the best value among the Beaujolais-Villages. See additional Wine Dine With Us reviews of Beaujolais wines at: http://bit.ly/rsl0cS

Light and fresh-looking with violet and garnet hues. The nose had inviting aromas of ripe raspberry, tea, and dried herbs. Cherries and spice fill the palate, rounded out by earth and underbrush. The oak influence was more pronounced on the palate with notes of vanilla and cedar. The La Crema has a light body, a good acidic backbone, and delicate tannins that linger for quite a while, along with cherry and vanilla oak flavors. The color is a lively light golden yellow. Citrus aromas - primarily lemon and lime - are complemented by great minerality and yeasty notes. A bit of honey emerges over a bit of time and with some swirling. The mouthfeel is rich but not heavy with a solid acidity and some bitterness. Lemon, minerality, and honey, as well as stone fruits, fill the palate. A long, pleasant finish. See more about this wine and others at: www.winedinewith.us

A blend of 70% Aragonez (Tempranillo), 20% Trincadeira, and 10% Alicante Bouschet, the wine is a dark, but not opaque, ruby that still looks fresh. Raspberry, cherry, and plum combine with mocha on the nose and palate. After some time in the glass, the initial off-putting rustic quality evolved to a more pleasant earthiness. Very well balanced, with acidity, tannins, and alcohol creating a solid, but not overbearing, structure for the fruit. The red fruits linger on the palate, as do the fine tannins. The appearance, as with many younger Beaujolais wines, is fresh and bright. Cherries and fresh raspberries are immediately apparent in the nose, but some vigorous swirling will reveal dried apricots and smokiness. Racy and streamlined, the acidity gives this wine its backbone with the delicate tannins rounding out the mouthfeel. This is a light-bodied wine that is both incredibly food-friendly and delicious on its own. Read more about this wine and others at: http://bit.ly/gznJmK

In the glass, the Enamore is a medium to dark ruby-purple. The nose is an incredibly intense mix of dried fruits, predominantly raisins and dates, cedar, and black cherry. The palate has the fruits found on the nose, plus chocolate, almonds, and a Port-like quality. Despite having been aged in new French oak for 12 months, this is not an “oaky” wine. The finish is long and luscious, with chocolate and a slight nuttiness. Read more at: http://winedinewith.us/2011/02/14/wine-review-2007-bodega-renacer-enamore/

What a very good value this wine is. The nose reminds me of honey Greek yogurt with melon and pear. It is very inviting. The mouthfeel is pleasant with moderate acidity and a lasting flavor of pear, honey, and spice. Read more about this wine and see additional wine reviews at: www.winedinewith.us. - 04/12/2010

The 2008 Rioja Blanca is crisp, lemony, and lively. The nose is fairly intense and has lots of citrus, particularly lemon, apple, and some tropical notes. My first taste had banana flavor, which was quickly overtaken by that everpresent lemon and some minerality and grassiness. It has very high acidity and a short finish.
