    Château de Cugat Cuvée Francis Meyer 2005


    JonKernPA's Review:

    Maybe it was the fact that I was celebrating climbing the Matterhorn with my climbing buddy (who climbed the Weisshorn) and his Swiss stepmother... Or that our first half-bottle was a Swiss red wine and this provided such a stark contrast... A deep, dark purple (especially contrasted with the light red swiss) with lots of body. Velvety smooth and delicious. It paired great with the Appenzeller cheese. I bought it at Manor in Geneva for ~$20I hope I can find more/some in the USA and update this review with more seductive wine details!
