Added Apr 15 at 5:33pmA lean and terroir driven Cabernet, planted on gravels in the Alto Cachapoal. Chile has rarely, if ever been know for producing elegant wine, this is an exception. You won't find just fruit and oak, you will find nuances of tannins and spice . This is a wine ready to drink, but give it a year and you will be rewarded. The 2010 vintage is tasting beautifully now. Give that a shot, as the vintages are just changing now.

Added Oct 28, 2013 at 4:58pmThe classic Macul Cabernet. Macul is a region in Chile's Maipo Valley, up in the foothills of the Andes. Cassis, red pepper and dried herbs. This is a wonderfulll elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice change of pace from many of the Chilean Cabernet's which are far from elegant and go for largess over style.

Added Oct 28, 2013 at 5:04pmOne of the most unique Pinot Noir's I have ever had. It smells like Christmas the first time you stick your nose in, cloves, baking spices and lots of delicate blue and red fruit. Coming from the deep south of Chile's Malleco Valley, this is a Pinot for everyone and especially for those who really want to explore. Yes there is more to the Pinot world, than Oregon, Burgundy and California. GASP!

Added Oct 28, 2013 at 5:04pmPull our your boxing gloves! This is dense wine and wants to be decanted! So pull out that decanter and beat this wine up a bit before you imbibe. That being said, this is unusual 100% Petit Verdot and will go the extra mile, either in your glass or in your cellar 10 years from now. With such a wild and sexy perfume of berries, Toknar continues to please on the palate and will not disappoint when paired with game or other meat dishes.

Mayu Carmenere-Syrah 2012Compare and Buy
Average Price: $14.99
Added Oct 28, 2013 at 4:51pmSmoke and berries. 55% Carmenere and 45% Syrah coming from Chile's Elqui valley make this a juicy wine, full ripe red and black fruit and waves of smoked meat (think roasting a whole pig). The sun is very intense in Elqui, so the skins on these grapes are actually considerably thicker than in other part of Chile. This adds to the smokey, spiciness of the wine and deep, rich taste. This wine wants barbecued anything, I'm thinking pork or turkey.

Mayu Pedro Ximenez 2012Compare and Buy
Average Price: $14.94
Added Oct 28, 2013 at 4:51pmTypically seen as sweet Sherry, this is one of the first dry Pedro Ximenez wines coming from South America. Mayu PX maintains a refreshing acidic edge while coming across as luscious and extremely refreshing. This is like nothing I had tasted before and is definitely worth a sip. If you like Torrontes, Alberino, or any other obscure whites, give this a shot. If nothing else, impress your wine geek buddies!
