Bright straw-gold, aromas of melon, honey and bosc pear, leading to rich stone fruit flavors with melon & citrus, viscous and bright, with good acid and a dose of sugar to carry its focused goodness to the end. Available, but limited, from the winery, and worth it! Around $20.

Bright ruby rose hue, plum bubble gum aromas, notes of strawberry, cherry watermelon riding on good acidity to an appealingly focused close. Grilled scampi, anyone?

Warm dark ruby, aromas of red stone fruits and tobacco, black cherry, black plum notes framed by firm tanning on the back of good acidity to a long, focused finished. Not a wimpy Merlot, but not a bruiser either.

Bright opaque, with red tree fruits in the nose; in the mouth its bright black cherry, berry and spice and everything nice. I think it loved the paprika and chorizo in our paella.

Medium bright golden straw, aromas of yellow apples, pear rind and minerals, viscus body with round apple pear, lime zest and popsicle stix with oily texture, focused notes throughout a rich mouthfeel that carries on. What do you want for $5 or $6? A terrific everyday value!!

Dull brick red with burnt orange rim, aromas of dried cherries, plums and red berries with baking spices, dried stone fruits, earth and leather with baking spice on palate with focused, balanced personality to a long finish. The BOMB! This '04 Reserva is still available from some specialty retailers. Don't pass up on this great value food wine from Apulia!

Straw bright, dull aromas of mangoes and pear, with yellow apple, mango on the front end, but wait...mid-palate the oak overwhelms, then the sharp acidity...where did the fruit and balance go...not a particularly graceful exit.
