This wine is not German - it is South African from Franschoek and is an excellent value for the price. It would make an honorable house wine for anyone. A real bargain. It is a South African blend (note the Pinotage) - Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Pinotage (46%), Syrah (6% and Cinsault (8%)

This is a classic "Meritage" from a boutique vintner on the Naramata bench on the south east shore of Lake Okanagan. I've made it my house wine - it is immensely drinkable and can be found in many of the better restaurants in vancouver. I'm a little puzzled by the prices quoted above. It can be obtained over the internet from the winery for around $30.
