Smokey with a solid finish, not a ton of fruit, maybe some plum; went great with an oxtail ragu over gnocchi. Simple, a bit lighter than expected but good.

It pays to have very generous and crazy friends who are willing to bring you a bottle of Barolo in a suitcase all the way from Northern Europe.Beautiful dark purple, with a bit of brown on it as well. Strong fruity flavors (strawberry) coming off the nose. Smooth mouth-feel and satisfying fruit, mainly strawberry. Incredible long finish. Amazing tannins, solid after-taste of strawberries. This is a GREAT wine. Decant or let this wine sit opened for a bit before you really dig in - it opens up!

Past it's prime. Drank in November 2007, so this wine is not young. However, the wine was correctly stored and the cork was in great condition. Great nose, but finish falls flat. Nose has vegetable and eucalyptus, and is very promising. Body is not too flavorful, and finish collapsed shortly after opening, leaving a disappointing end.

Pretty amazing big super tuscan. Deep, dark red color. Some fruit smell, but mainly strong oak flavors and great finish. Excellend tannins. Perfect for steak.
