hot on the nose but also intense with a bit of fudginess, sandy, soil, mineral tones, a bit of an herbal and black olive background, with a fresh, unsweetened yet jammy quality about the fruit which leans towards cranberry and black cherry , tobacco- very fresh in the mouth, bright and very well balanced with plenty of tannin but all well draped by dark spiced berry fruit, a touch of granite, tobacco, leafy greens, iron rich spinach, nopales, and mint, nicely complex and yet just an attractive touch of astringency/austerity prevents this from being too much, charcoal on the back end, spicy, mineral, and almost icy cool mint on the moderately long finish with notes of candy apple and maybe green melon rind, lots of wine here. 92pts

Sweetly oaky on the nose with lots of dried ginger, clove and vanilla notes that accent the slightly jammy blackberry fruit. there are hints of green herbs floating in the background but overall this has a very ripe, pie filling character to it. In the mouth this is big and lush yet well balanced. It is powerful but there is almost an airiness here that belies the depth. There is no over extracted feel just power. There is great acidity here that keeps the wine zesty yet the tannins are really soft and hidden in the fruit that takes on a cherry Dr. pepper quality on the finish. 87pts with room for improvement.

intense nose of roasted berry fruit, leather, eucalyptus, dusty chalky soil, with background notes of roast meat, flowers, and Christmas spice, fine balance, touch hot but nice compliment of nutty oak and lightly jammy blackberry fruit, very well managed tannins, easy and alcohol is well contained on the palate, fruity red fruits but not terribly complex, minty finish with wild cherry, nice 87pts

stinky, earthy, fudgy, toast, smells like a chocolate chip blondie, candied too with smoldering herbs and creosote. Sweet and a bit thick with unintegrated acidity, hot, clumsy, drying, lots of prune/plum fruit, a bit minty on the finish which is thankfully short but the tannins and acids stick around, medicinal in a not good way. Disjoined but big. 84pts

balsamic and fairly oaky on the nose with some assertive green herbs and a nice streak of grafite, and leather nice mouthfeel, well balanced, good acids and nice tannins, a touch earthy and mineral with some oak up front leading to more of a black curranty mid-palate with a hint of jammy blackberry, nice finish with good length, nice and firm with a touch of minty herb and medicinal notes, very nice 92pts

very fruity nose, woodsy, balsamic, church candle/incense, sandy soil, strawberry and a touch of roses, a touch sweet fruity right up front then decidedly medium bodied with lots of strawberry and red currant fruit, not particularly complex but friendly, with some clay earth tones on the palate leading to the fairly long bright finish with tannins that are just a hint astringent but in a cleansing way, long fruity finish 89pts

Tight and fine with a tobacco, oak, soil tone that recalls Bordeaux but with redder, warmer fruit. Nice depth and savory complexity. Beefy. Polished and smooth with an initial fair bit of wood yielding to a very balsamic character with a smattering of forest floor and medicinal licorice. Nicely balanced and focused, easy and fresh but not simple. Nice fruit on the finish which is a bit tight at this point, very nice depth and almost elegant. 93pts

A bit tight still with woody note covering sweet cocoa tinged fruit, mocha cherry with some crushed herbs flittering in the background, soft yet juicy with dark spice tones and dark slightly jammy fruit notes, black cherry and plummy, medium full, nice mouthfeel, good, classic fruit profile touch minty on the finish, a touch tight but with good length 90pts

Earth, oak, roast meat, iron rust, spice, red fruit, vanilla, classic typical Cali cab aromatics from a very good vintage, jammy wild cherry fruit - full entry, nicely focused a touch soft but with plenty of crisp tannins to support the earthy, herbal fruit that has just a hint of sweetness on the edge, nice cherry pit tone on the back end turning fruitier on the finish with a nice pairing of vanilla- and spice- with red fruit, decent length 90pts

Downright meaty and roasted herb garden almost remind of Chateauneuf with gamy, herbal garrigue floral, very complex and increasingly attractive scents, soft round entry, great bright acids, balanced tannins, a bit of camphor, red currant reduction, tobacco, balanced in the mouth, clean fresh finish with wild red berry fruits and just a touch of spice on the moderately long finish. 91pts
