Added Feb 17, 2011 at 11:24amThe color was rich dark ruby with aromas of cherry and slight vanilla. The body was a little less than what the color was telling. Felt a medium to heavy weight in the mouth. Was expecting a deep heavy wine. What it was is what I was wanting at that time. A wine for the season that I could relax on. Probably would have worked miracles with food, but I just wasn't hungry at the time. The flavor was a nice cherry and plum flavor. I thought it was fruit heavy, but as it opened up in the mouth and through the finish it developed a nice mineral touch. My original thought was that famous pencil lead descriptor. I don't pull that one out a whole lot, but think it is worth mentioning here.

Added Mar 23, 2010 at 11:15amEnjoyed this one much more than the 2007. Could be the year it has on it in age, not sure. It spoke of Chianti so much more. Definitely showed the red fruits and had the aroma of cherry. Pretty well balanced with a slight dryness to it.

Added Mar 23, 2010 at 11:08amThis was just not doing it for me last night. Had it before dinner as we were experiencing a pretty cold day in between to beautiful 70 degree days. It was dry and rough in the mouth. Felt like a low grade sand paper. Not much fruit or character to it. The 2006 was far better in my opinion.

Added Mar 23, 2010 at 11:02amI really enjoyed this wine. Was not as heavy as most Syrahs are to me, which is exactly what I was looking for last night. Had a nice sense of alcohol and mineral to it and the finish was fruity and robust. I like Syrah but will agree it is not a typical representation. I will buy it again though.

Added Mar 3, 2010 at 9:17pmThis is a good value wine. Had a nice bit of acidity to it but nothing strong. Not as big in the mouth as I would like it Hint: THIN! Would buy it again but won't rave about it.

Added Mar 3, 2010 at 8:42pmI definitely think it is a good buy, however it has a bit of a wet swimsuit smell to it. Not bad like corked wet cardboard... just something a little different. Has nice viscosity with some light and dark fruits coming out. Easy on the acid as well but it is there. The finish comes in strong at first and then slowly disappears.

Added Mar 1, 2010 at 6:26pmEnjoying this a lot right now after work. Looks great in the glass and a little heavy on the mouth for what I was expecting, but then it thins out. A lot of fruit up front but to me has a vanillia bit on the finish. After what I had before this taste like a Talley.
