An excellent Reserva from a very good vintage. A dark musty nose with hints of mushroom. Very long on the finish with notes of coffee.

This one had a nice nutty, almondy nose. Very cloudy appearance. On the palate, very soft fruit. The nuttiness continues with hints of sugar and passion fruit. Not quite acidic enough for me but this is a very solid wine.

Solid, earthy nose. Leathery and dark, Lacks a little tannic structure on the palate. A hair weak but some orange peel and chocolate do come across. Overall not bad especially at this price point.

Very robust considering this thing only was only harvested last year. Nice structure, good tannins and moderately heavy fruit - jammy with hints of blackcurrant. It is an aggressive, young wine but a great advertisement for Ribera del Duero.

A decent Chianti. Very soft tannins with some nice fruit coming through on the palate. Not in any way overpowering which is why it paired with lasagne very well. I'm sure there are much better Chiantis in this price range but this one proved satisfactory.

This has become one of my go to wines. After trying the excellent 2007 last year, the 2008 doesn't disappoint. It's the same vineyard that makes the excellent Tres Picos 100% grenache. This one is 70% Grenache, 20% Shiraz and 10% Tempranillo. It's a young wine so a hair on the sweet side but it does eventually open up with nice raspberry undertones. Really good, especially at this price point.

A wine completely out of left field. Absolutely superb wine both in terms of quality and the price. Very heavy on the nose and palate. Smells of burnt wood and earth matched by the taste of heavy duty cherries and berries with a magnificent oakiness. A long, long finish sets this wine apart from the majority of wines that I've had this year. A little gem.

A Reserva from the Navarre region of Spain. An area that hasn't really rocked my world in terms of the wine that I've had. This one has changed my perception a little though. Big grapes in Tempranillo, Cab Sauv and Merlot. Surprisingly not very oakey considering the amount of time it spent in the barrel. Very old world understatedness. Nice rounded fruit on the palate, but not overly so. It complimented my beef dish exceedingly well by bringing out a lot of the dish's flavours. Decent and for the price(€6) probably something I woud look at picking up again.

A tart, grassy nose with a lot of apricot. Tropical fruits coming through as well. Quite acidic on the palate and perhaps a hair too much alcohol for my taste. Very acidic fruit and a very metallic aftertaste. Decent effort but nothing special.

A well made, very balanced 100% Grenache. Quite floral on the nose with a distinct herbaceousness on the palate. Understated fruit with a nice finish.
