Added Aug 15, 2012 at 4:31pmIt's a basic wine, not in my style as it is too "created", too boringly perfect in its category. However, it is still a well made wine with some food friendly acidity and nice clean fruit from a respected producer. My friend, who is more of a "normal" winelover than I am likes to stack up on the half bottles for drinking with dinners when he has no guests. As a regular drinking red, it's not bad.

Added Aug 14, 2012 at 5:01pmOne of my favorite rosés of all time. Gorgeous, different, beautifully oxidized (the Riojanas call it "nobel oxidation"). Food friendly. Where I am (Sweden) the 2000 has sold out and the next rosé vintage is 2006 which will be released in 2016 so if I were you I'd grab one while they last.

Added Jul 27, 2012 at 10:09amHere you immediately notice the roots that fine rioja has in the Bordeaux trade. An elegant reminder of past, present and future. Soft, elegant with warm fruit and integrated oak. Intensity provided by grapes from old vines but without the excess of some modern winemaking. The 15% cabernet sauvignon adds to the Bordeaux feeling. Excellent vintage.

Added Jul 31, 2012 at 8:57amThis white wine from the verdejo grape was a pleasant new encounter. It is an excellent, light fresh summer wine - a treat with shellfish or fish with a light sauce. Or just on its own as an aperitif. Herbaceous green notes on a citrus base. Priced around the equivalent of 12-13 USD in Europe. Serve well chilled.

Added Jul 31, 2012 at 8:53amAn excellent classically styled rioja, with beautiful balance and acidity paired with nice black and red fruit. The oak is well integrated. This producer keeps a high level across the board, from "cheap" to super premium and are a good bet if you want to try the different styles of Rioja.

Added Aug 10, 2012 at 12:18pmButtery, toasted, full of ripe yellow apples. Medium-sized mousse (bubbles) and a nice, rounded acidity. A good food wine and a nice value for a champagne to go with food.
Added Aug 10, 2012 at 12:16pmA seriously toasty, buttery, full-bodied champagne. At the price I paid in Epernay (Champagne) it was a good value. Not a terribly complex champagne but a lovely food wine!

Added Aug 10, 2012 at 11:32amOne of my favorite producers anywhere, one of my favorite wines from this producer (beat only by the white Tondonia gran reserva), and an excellent vintage. What's not to love.

Added Aug 8, 2012 at 10:48am"Not just champagne for a meal - a meal in itself!" said a fellow Swedish wine journalist. I agree. It is a full-bodied champagne with many complex layers. A truly vinous champagne.
