Dark ruby red color. Nose comes off as a bit muted and shows cherry and yeasty bread. It's dark and almost dank but without any smell of mold. I'm still on the fence in thinking this may be a flawed bottle. However, on the palate it's all there with raspberry jam and spicy wild berry fruit mix with a little vanilla and a sweet and sour play on the mid-palate. I don't know what to make of this wine.

Very light red color with a nose of soil, graphite and tar with blackberry fruit buried deep beneath. The palate has filled out nicely since my last tasting giving it a softer and more velvety feel and showing raspberry fruit, earth, leather and black pepper. I've got to say that this Pinot has really rounded out over the past few months and now I'm wishing I'd purchased more.

A nice improvement since my last bottle. This Felsina Chianti Riserva displayed floral aromas with blackberry fruit, clove and old cedar. On the palate it showed raspberry, herbal tea leaves and sour citrus rind. The body is medium and the finish is long with lemony, sour cherry

Showing very mute tonight. My memories of this bottle included lush intense fruit on the nose and a full bodied performance on the palate but this is far from what I recall. Tonight's bottle showed some red fruit, cedar and quite a bit of heat on the nose. On the palate it shows some currant and vanilla with a drying, short finish. Possible bad bottle... maybe. But I honestly think it may just be going down hill or in a funky stage. Unfortunately this was my last bottle and so I was unable to experiment with another.

What a surprise since I picked this up after reading a brief article on Carmignano and thought to taste one. Amazing nose that reads like a basket of red fruit. First it's raspberry, then wild berries and then cherry cough drops followed up by cedar and saddle leather. The palate reveals sour cherries, creme fraiche and clove. Medium body with wonderfully brisk acidity and a nice long red berry finish

A dark, almost black color in the glass. The nose is intense showing dark blackberry fruit with beef broth, plum sauce, savory herbs, mint. The palate is rich, full and intense with pumpkin pie spice, blackberries, raisin, tar and black licorice. The finish is beautifully long and full of ripe cherry fruit. This was my wine of the night.

Dark purple in the glass. The nose shows strawberry fruit, followed by raisin a hint of barnyard, soil and wet leaves. A big rich and smooth performance with sweet cherry, sage and violets on the palate. A long finish remicient of blackberry jam. A big racy wine that's very sexy in the glass. This was the majority favorite of the night and the '06 Janasse CDP, that I scored higher, was only the winner for me by a hair.

After one hour in decanter showed a dark red color. The nose was explosive and layered with ripe strawberry, musk, olive and cherry liquor. Flavors of blackberry, tar and minerals in the mouth with a dark cherry mid-palate. This bottle showed good tannic structure with balanced acidity and enough fruit to keep this going for years to come

Dark red in the glass and as I pour into the decanter the room is filled with floral and fruity smells that tempt me enough to pour a glass first thing and take a few sips. What a wine right out of the bottle but the main show started about two hours later. Aromas of Black currant and raspberry jam with dusty potpourri and spiced cookie. The palate was lush and full bodied with Cherry and wild berries followed by sage and finished with cinnamon and dark chocolate. The most impressive part is that through all of this the wine is balanced with a bit of extra acidity that makes it a food friendly wine. Very happy with this bottle.

FIVE DAYS LATER: Wow! Two ounces kept in my Eurocave with the idea that I might get to it the night after but the week got away from me and so it sat (exposed to a good amount of air) for five days until now. The nose has remained very similar but has taken on raisin, plum and some cedar notes. The palate has darken significantly and lost a bit of its detail but not all as you still has the roasted nuts, raisin and cherry but the balsamic notes have really taken control and i must say... It's good!
