Added Mar 3, 2013 at 7:34pmThe nose was alive with intense grapefruit, white florals and wet mineral laden stone. On the palate it was electric and refreshing with tense acidity that really made it pop in the mouth. Sweet lemony grapefruit turned tart with a hint of peach and a rush from mouthwatering acidity. The finish was clean with tart citrus fruit left hanging on the senses. A nice QPR if you're in the mood for a New Zealand Sauv Blanc. It's easy drinking and fun with all the right NZ tells.

Added Mar 3, 2013 at 7:33pmThe nose showed savory dark cherry reduction sauce, plum, tobacco, spice, undergrowth, mountain herbs, soil and mineral tones. On the palate it was rich and deep with silky textures and a hint of tannin still remaining. Flavors of black cherry and cinnamon spice permeated the palate though the finish, which lasted for half a minute.

Added Mar 3, 2013 at 7:32pmThe nose showed intense cherry and cranberry sauce with exotic spices, menthol, mountain herbs and just the perfect hint of barnyard. On the palate notes of cranberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and black licorice saturated the tastebuds with a rich textural mouthfeel and zesty acidity that kept it fresh and lively. The finish was long with palate staining fruits as hints of fragrant herbs filled the senses. This was big and rich yet fresh and zesty with all the Etna character I crave. I enjoyed it quite a bit and highly recommend it.

Added Dec 20, 2012 at 10:51amThe nose showed intense raspberry, red floral tones, tar, animal musk, undergrowth and dark chocolate. On the palate it was medium-bodied with concentrated, tart cherry fruit, tobacco and leather. The finish was long with dry, red berries and grainy tannin that coated the palate. This is a little painfull to drink now but should be marvelous in a few years time. ** I have to note, that after three days of being open, this wine continued to show amazing fruit and purity with no signs of deterioration. It's a beautiful Nebbiolo that will find a place in my cellar.

Added Dec 15, 2012 at 10:38pmThe nose was at once sweet and savory with black currant, cherry, charred meat, tobacco, underbrush and bell pepper. It entered the palate like velvet, then turned to intensity as red and black currant fruits, airy menthol and green pepper notes saturated the senses. It's compact structure flexed it's muscle on the long finish as tart berry fruit was turned even drier by fine grain tannin. I can only imagine that this wine will one day bloom into something extraordinary with it's posed structure and concentration of fruit. Wow.

On the palate, it was velvety smooth yet juicy with a hint of sweetness to it's black currant fruit, exotic spice and vanilla. The finish was long, long, long with blackberry, currant and a hint of citrus.

On the palate, it was velvety smooth and luxuriant with blackberry jam, cherry wood and spice. The finish was exceptionally long with blackberry and currant fruit, yet fresh and begging for another sip.

On the palate it was juicy throughout with a medium body, showing soft medicinal cherry fruit and a pleasant medium-long finish. Incredibly drinkable and fun, yet it seems to me that this wine doesn't warrant the price tag. (90 points)

On the palate it was medium bodied with firm structure buried beneath intense red cherry fruit, cinnamon spice, and led to a long, long palate staining finish. It's enjoyable now with a short decant, yet should age and improve effortlessly for 7 - 10 years. (94 points)

On the palate, it was beautifully balanced and elegant with a firm start and juicy finish. Ripe red and blue fruits went from sweet to tart as it flowed across the palate. The finish was long and spicy. (92 points)
