Craig Bilodeau

Location: Plano, TX

Plano area guy using wine as a vehicle for his mid-life crisis. I thought that this would be cheaper than fast cars and hot women (or is it hot cars and fast women?), but that is not turning out to be the case... ;-)

On the nose, this wine is bright with currants and dark berries, with sweet spices and cedar rounding it off. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and filled with red and black currants, backed by ripe black cherry and sweet spice. Fine tannins and a nice acidic zip to the fruit on the finish.

This Dolcetto is a nice ruby red in color. On the palate, it has a chalky minerality with hints of roses and in which the dark fruit of blackberry, boysenberry, and blueberry is nicely balanced with the tannins, yielding a very nicely structured red that will go well with many different types if dishes.

A nose of pears, apples, and a bit of peach. In the mouth, this wine is fairly dry and light, with the nose of ripe pear and apple flavors. I bit of minerality on the finish.

A great wine for the price, the 2010 Féraud-Brunel Côtes du Rhône Villages has blueberry, boysenberry and blackberry fruit, layered with woodspice and tobacco tones. The long finish is has notes of licorice.

I loved this cab! Ripe plum and berry notes on the nose with a full-bodied feel in the mouth yielding ripe cherry, mineral and anise flavors, along with a bit of leather. Wonderful!

Cherries and a bit of oak on the nose. Medium grained tannins with candied cherry and spice on the finish.
