89 points:Color: 5/5 -- Deep, dark, beet red. Looks great in the glass!Nose: 12/15 -- Upon opening, the nose is very tight. It took until day #2 for it to open and start showing much. Eventually there's dark berries on the nose, some spiciness, and maybe some (?)leather.Flavor: 8/10 -- Definitely fits the mold of a jammy, full-frontal, new-world fruit attack. Very full, berry-riffic that retains a decent tannin bite that lends to a pleasant finish.Finish: 8/10 -- While not overly compelling, the finish of this Zin is a very nice balance of black raspberry and chocolate while retaining enough dryness to stand up and keep you interested.Potential/Overall: 6/10 -- Nice tannins, good structure & mouth feel. Judging from how this weathered a night in the fridge, this can probably stay in the back corner of your cellar for 2+ years... or you can pull it up, decant it for 2 hours, and enjoy it today.
