Added Jul 15, 2010 at 12:09pmAs Fanucchi touts this is the white wine that converts "Red-only" folks. It is full bodied but refreshing, aromatic, crisp an clean. Peach is my first impression but it is more complex than that without being heavy.Gris It gets it's character from the grapes because there is none of that heavy disgusting butter & vanilla that messes up so many white wines. It 's far better than those much more expensive Pinot Grigos that often taste like water. This wine holds it's own even when you have been tasting Zinfandel!

Added Jul 15, 2010 at 11:58amOf all the Zinfandel on Wood Road Fanucchi is my favorite grower and the tiny bit they save for their own Fanucchi Vineyards brand is my favorite. They always seem to push for full ripeness with out going over the top. The 2005 has that balance of big silky tannins with ripe fruit you with out knowing better you'd guess this to be a much younger wine (by 3 of 4 years!)... This is one of my favorite Zinfandels ever. It is drinking well now and I think it will still improve for a couple of years or so in a good cellar.
