Deep, rich purple color, a slight musty scent, pleasing to the palate w/black cherry & licorice. A good find at a bargin price

Purple in color. Scents of cherry, spice (pepper) hint of vanilla. Initial sharpness, tad dry, picked up vanilla on taste as well

Rich in color. Dark cherry scent with a hint of licorice and spice. Slightly musty. Rich, velvety and smooth. It was pleasant rolling on the tongue.

On sale for $16, normally $20.We liked the fullness and long finish. It was somewhat dry. Very smooth. Maybe my favorite wine to date.

Deep in color,spicy depth to the nose leading to the wonders of the mysteriousness of taste. The spiciness comes through on the palate, pleasantly peppery. A slightly dry finish. Although we rated this the same as some other wines that we've tasted, the complexity of this wine was truly noted. If you are in the mood for a spicier wine this would be a decent inexpensive choice.

Soft vanilla scent. Buttery, sumptious, full wine. Smooth, lingering finish. This is the second time that we've had this vintage and enjoyed its buttery flavor and at a can't miss price.

Compared to a 2007 Penfold's Rawson's Retreat Shiraz/Cabernet. Full bodied smell with black cherry and vanilla scents. Full, well rounded wine with mild acidity. A bit more acidity and a bit less well rounded than the Penfold's.

We compared this with the 2007 Jacob's Creek Shiraz/Cabernet. Although very close in taste and quality, this wine won out. Ripe cherry and spicy scent. Smooth on the palate with very little acidity. Rich, well balanced wine, with a mildly dry finish.

CLOJON's Review:

Big bold nose of fruit and spice. The taste itself fell far short of this introduction. At first somewhat acidic and then a bit flat we were disappointed after looking forward to a bold and flavorful wine. After breathing for a bit, some dryness that we were expecting at first taste appeared, at the back of the palate. Longer finish than preferred.
