    Blinky's Review:

Oak, tobacco and pepper on the nose. Red fruit, earth, wood and some mineral flavors. Overall full bodied with well-rounded tannins and a spicy finish. Initially there was some astringency, but after breathing for 1.5-2 hours, the wine improved tremendously.

  • Blinky's Review:

Interesting blend of 70% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Syrah, 5.5% Carignane and 4.5% Syrah. Heavy duty on the fruit, very plummy and jammy with a hint of spice. Great body and pleasant overall. Very good value.

This wine is from Yecla, Spain. Jammy spice aromas, powerful fruit flavors, excellent body, smooth mouth feel and light tannins, however, there is some astringency and sourness. Good value.

    Blinky's Review:

Tannat is such a fascinating grape, it just makes this wine worthwhile right there!! As for the aromas, definitely oaky, tobacco smoke and leather, the appearance is great, and it tastes like dried fruit with a hint of vanilla and in your face tannins. The tannins are certainly the best part - great dry and leathery feel typical of tannat that lingers for several seconds. However, do not expect the powerful experience that comes with a solid French Madiran. This wine is very enjoyable and is a great value.

    Blinky's Review:

Deep scarlet in color, good legs and earthy, musty and woody aromas. Flavors of dried fruit and oak, good body with well-rounded and smooth tannins.
