Big and smoky, with some pleasant charry plum on the palate, and notes of rich, dark chocolate and bay leaf aft. Rather nice at the price, and certainly worth recommending to fans of more rustically styled Pinotage.

Simple and direct, exhibiting honest cherry, plum and boysenberry aromatics on the palate with a bit of vanillin aft. Not much else there, but the acid profile is streamlined, and it's a perfectly acceptable creature in the ultravalue-wine category.

Thin, and a bit grapey with a narrow band of prune-like fruit and an acid burst. Not the best Lindemans' shiraz.

Pleasing, with juicy berry fruit and just enough structure to make it worth pairing with dinner. An enjoyable Tuesday-night wine.

Sadly, this lovely creature appears to be on the downward slope. The fruit is disappearing, the color is brown well into the glass (no longer just on the rim) and mocha and dusty aromatics are becoming more prevalent. The tannic structure is also nigh gone.

I like it, but it's a bit over-the-hill. The fruit is no longer as prevalent as it once was, and the layers of chocolate and tar have receded, leaving leaner cedar-like notes. Drink now, if you're still holding on to any bottles.

Rock-solid, and certainly worthy of your time (and your investment). Truly one of the best Bordeaux efforts in the vintage.

Absolutely incredible, but I feel rather as though I've killed a baby. Let it cellar another four to six years before enjoying. (2009)

Somewhat flabby and lacking in structure, but exhibits good fruit. Could have done with more barrel age, perhaps.
