Great wine for very low price! Dressed in intense ruby red robe with deep purple nuances, this wine offers aromas of black fruits with a range of spicy notes, kirsch liqueur and resiny pine forest notes are present in this elegant, mellow wine. The attack is soft with a dominance of black currant, liquorices and black pepper with dense tannins which gives the wine a great evolution. The finish is long and full bodied.

'Spiced apple aromas... zesty and crisp... finishes in a complex, mature manner. Stylish.' Chiefly chardonnay grapes that are hand picked and carefully whole-cluster pressed. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks, then blended with reserve wines and fermented a second time in this bottle and aged en tirage before degorgement.

Alsacian Grand Cru style, rich and full-bodied Gewurztraminer. This wine is fermented in small lots to ensure quality. 2007 vintage is very mature now, with a rich, pale straw-to-gold hue. Aromatically it’s very evolved, with a sense of dryness but a dense suggestion of sweetness. Shows perfumed flavors of spiced apple, kumquat, baked oranges, melon rind, zesty white pepper and a note of oriental fragrance. The palate is fresh but rich with a great Grand Cru style viscosity, vibrant and well-structured, nice and elegant hint of sweetness that comes from the sides bringing more toffee and nut flavors. Great balance, with finely tuned acidity and delightful fruit flavors, lychee and rose petals with ample amounts of spice in a wonderful, lingering finish. This wine could be a great example of a hidden-gem wine of a cool Northern Michigan climate. Thanks to the structure, this wine shows great potentials for aging. Only 150 cases produced. Mostly for a Bel Lago wine club allocation or distributed throughout restaurants.

Highly recommended! Winemaker, Charles Edson, Ph.D., originally "discovered this variety on a trip to Alsace, and later enjoyed the variety in Luxembourg and Canada. First planted Auxerrois over 20 Years ago. The wine ages well and should be in its prime through 2016 (if you can find some). Bel Lago was the first winery in the US to receive a label for Auxerrois. This wine is 70% stainless steel fermented with 30% fermented in neutral (7-10 year old) French oak barrels, aged sur-lie to soften and further broaden the flavor profile, without significantly compromising the fruit.

A dessert Riesling made from beautifully ripe fruit harvested in late October. Crisp acidity balanced with sweetness. Pale color, with nice petrol on the nose and a rich core of ripe red apple, unripe peach, pear, and flavors with shades of petrol on the palate; a little oily, with good weight, acids and a long finish.

BRUT - American Bubbly - Sparkling Wine "Pale yellow gold... complex fruit aromas... yeasty accents... fruity... crisp style." A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes that are hand picked and carefully whole-cluster pressed. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks, then blended with reserve wines and fermented a second time in a closed tank [the cuve close method]. The wine is then filtered, dosaged, and bottled.
