June 2009
The 2005 vintage was a #3 wine of the year. On the nose: like a cherry blossom candybar, so chocolate and cherry aromas. A little spice on the back end. Dry, but not overly so. Nice dark fruit, ripe berries on the attack. Very long finish. Overall a wonderful effort. WineSpectator gave it a 92. Tasted in Episode 1 of our show.

Dark chocolate shavings on the nose, creamy. Very dark color. Warmth on the back end. Still a little young, will definitely evolve over time. Good balance of fruit. A little spice on the attack. Not a complex wine. Tastes sort of like a "Foret Noir Gateau." Good value for the price. WineSpectator gave it a 90. Tasted in Episode 4 of our show.
