This wine has a nice red colour with an hint of brick on the side,showing it has aged a bit. On the nose, you first get a sense of leather and molasse, and thent a bomb of mulberries. What a nose! I'm ready to marry any women who smells that great!At first taste, it just feels like silk - smooth and refreshing at first, then a lot of fruite gracisouly supported by soft and round tannins.This is ready to drink without a passage in carafe - just pour, and smell heaven!

This wine is produced using the "appasimento" method normally used to produce Amarone, but instead of using Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, it is produced using Refosco (a local Italian varietal) and Carmenere, thus the name "Supervenitian" used to characterize this "Rosso Delle Venezie" IGT.With a dominance of tobacco and a bit of Cherry, this is a well made wine that would gain to stay in the cellar another couple of years (wait till 2010) and definitely gained by being decanted.At this price, this is a good "weekday" alternative to an Amarone.

This Prosecco is a bit more dry than most, and accompanied perfectly a lobster and mussel meal where too much garlic butter was involved.
