On the nose, there were pears, apricots, peaches, and grilled pineapples that smelled as if they were soaking in apple juice. In the mouth, there were apples and pears on the attack, but the flavor fell off almost immediately, leaving a chalk dust and basil aftertaste behind. The sparkler had medium acidity and a medium body. For a full review of this wine, visit my website at: http://bit.ly/bbZR47

On the nose, there were peaches, apricots, and kiwis, followed by a hint of grass. In the mouth, there was grass, parsley, and saline with a touch of kiwi and peach. The wine, surprisingly, was medium-bodied. For a full review of this wine, visit my blog at: http://bit.ly/brKTqx

On the nose, there were grapefruits, raspberries, strawberries, and a hint of white pepper and fresh herbs. In the mouth, there were sour cherries, pink grapefruits, tart raspberries, strawberries, thyme, and a touch of something funky on the finish that I couldn’t quite place. The wine had a lime-like acid and a light body. For a full review of this wine, visit my blog at: http://bit.ly/bMVD3T

On the nose, there were strong honeysuckle, white flower, and peach aromas, which were followed by hints of salt, lime, and wet stone. In the mouth, there were peaches, limes, and wet stone, along with some white flowers, a touch of herbaceousness, and the flavor of contact lens solution. The wine had low-to-medium acidity and a light-to-medium body. For a full review of this wine, visit my blog at: http://bit.ly/dceg5j

On the nose, the wine was very complex, with blackberry jam, blueberry, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and cinnamon aromas followed by the slightest touch of fresh mint leaves. In the mouth, it was fully of berries and sweet spices. The wine had big tannins, strong acidity, and a nice body. For a full review of this wine, visit my blog at: http://bit.ly/cr4uJf

The 2008 Ruffino Chianti was a bright, but deep ruby. On the nose, there were cedar, ripe cherry, and black pepper aromas, followed by the slightest hint of violets. In the mouth, there were big, Bing cherry flavors, followed by black pepper, rose petals, and tobacco. The Chianti had a high acidity, low tannins, and a light-to-medium body.
