Actually 4.5+ points. Color, this wine has a deep dark ruby red color, very seductive. Nose, there are a lot of black fruits going on, black licorice, mind toasty oak, vanilla, a hint of coffee beans, very complex nose indeed, some smooth nice dirt and dry leaves coming through also, extremely aromatic. Midpalate, very silky, black licorice dominating, black fruits, it is a little bit (just a bit) hallow on midpalate!, lush, smooth, dry, big, bold. Finish, this wine shows a lot of finesse, very elegant, luxurious, super silky, long, very long finish (60+ seconds and still feeling it!!), smooth nice tannins, mouth filling, very well balanced, layers and layers of black fruits coming through. Overall, this wine is very well made. It clearly shows a lot of potential. It has a nice roundness. It has not peaked yet. I would put it away until 2023-2047. I am enjoying this wine a lot! I would only recommend it to a very good wine expert. I am easily 96+ on this effort. I can see this wine reach 97 in 25 years. Happy drinking!

Actually, 3.9 stars. Color, this sauternes has a nice, deep, golden color, very appealing. On the nose, very complex, dried apricot, caramel, honey, classic nose! Midpalate, oil think, full bodied, dried apricot and honey are interacting harmoniously, it completely covers my tongue. Finish, very smooth, textured, nice complexity, lingering in the mouth (50+ seconds), round, and well balanced. Overall, this sauternes is very well made. It has a lot of potential. It is young and has not peaked yet. I'd recommend you put it away for 40 even 60 more years! It will only get better over time. Bottled at 13%. I am 93+ on this effort now. I can see it as a 95 pointer in 30+ years from now. Happy drinking!

Actually 3.6+ stars. Color, this wine has a nice very classic barbaresco color, very light, pleasant, seductive. On the nose, wild flours, cherries, some black fruits, leather, rich, tar, some earthiness. Midpalate, wild roses and cherries are very vibrant, medium bodied, covers all your palate, some sweet tobacco coming through. It shows a lot of potential. Finish, nice acidity, firm tannins covering all my palate, still wild cherries and roses are dominating, long finish, well balanced, very round, really lingering in the mouth, acceptably complex. Overall, this wine is very well made, it has a lot to offer, nice complexity, textured. This wine is best if you pair it with food. It is a bit hard to drink it by itself. This wine has not peaked yet. Drinkable now but best between 2015-2029. Bottled at 14.5%. I am 92 on this effort. It is well made and I am enjoying it. Happy drinking!

Actually 2.9+ stars. Color, this wine has a classic barolo color, light, and delicate. On the nose, it was so tight at the beginning but after 5 hours of opining it opined up, black fruits coming through, wild cherries, blackberry, blueberry, a hint of vanilla and black licorice, a hint of dry leaves and earthiness, tar as well. Midpalate, light, not full bodied, dry, a little bit (just a little bit) hallow, black fruits are still vibrant. Finish, the wine covers my palate very well. There are some blueberries dancing on my palate. Pleasant finish, decent complexity, nice tannins, lingering in the mouth. I am 89+ on this effort. Happy drinking!

Classic, old world, luxurious. This is really for wine experts. I'm not sure if I am making sense but this puts you in a "classic Italian night". Very aromatic. I would give it 94+. Seek it out.

Color, this wine has a nice and light, classic Brunello di Montalcino, seductive. Nose, very aromatic!, very complex, a lot of black fruits coming through, tar, dry leaves, earthiness. the nose is exemplary, WOW. Midpalate, this is the major drawback of this wine. the midpalate is water thin, very light, hallow, not what you'd expect from the nose. Finish, nice firm tannins, lingering, complex, dry fruits are dominating, and dancing on my palate. Overall, this wine is acceptable but is obviously overrated! this is no way a 100 pointer. I am 93 on this effort. Happy drinking!

Actually, 4.4 stars. Color, this port has a nice, dense, a little bit aged color. On the nose, a lot of dried black fruits, dried raisins, some floral aromas coming through, a little (very little) hint of alcohol, but dried fruits are dominating in here, seductive. Midpalate, dried fruits still vibrant and dominating, black fruits coming through, full bodied, nice sweetness, blue berries. Finish, very smooth, dense, nice extremely smooth tannins, lingering in the mouth, textured, and very fine complexity, very balanced, very (sophisticated) finish, especially if you are having a fine cigar. Overall, this port is very well made. It will easily age for 50 to 60 years. However, if you're drinking it now, you indeed need to decant it for at least 2 days! Yes, two days! I am 95 on this effort. I can see it 96 after 25 years from now. Happy drinking!

Actually, 2.5+ stars. Color, this wine lacks that (sauvignon-blancy) color. It is cloudy, not very clear, almost seems like unfiltered, not very appealing color. On the nose, a LOT of carrots dominating, yes carrots! Also there is some apricot that is still vibrant in here, some barnyard smell, yes! There are also some eucalyptus and some (weird) flours, grassiness, some minerality, a little bit awkward for sauvignon blanc! Midpalate, barnyardy!, crushed carrots, apricot, a hint of earthiness, minerality, considerably full body. Finish, I am having some awkward finish, some wood, earthiness, the carrots and barnyard are still vibrant, balanced and round, lingering, a little (very little) hint of lime. Overall, this is a good demonstration of why I always say California is not the place that you'd consider at the first place for sauvignon blanc! This wine tastes (almost) nothing like sauvignon blanc. Yes, it is balanced, round, and has a lingering finish, but still not (sauvignon blancy). Bottled at 14.5%, which is extremely high for a sauvignon blanc! I am 86 on this effort. In two years this may get 86+ points. Happty drinking!
