Very floral and a bit stinky on the nose with some slightly signs of reduction. Vigorous swirling helps clear the nose revealing a little passion fruit framed black fruit with notes of gravel, pomegranate seeds and dried beef adding nuance. Fairly large scaled one entry, this shows a fine blend of polish and perfume in the mouth. Still a touch rigid if not surtic, there’s a nice brightness to the fruit here and real power to it across the backend of the palate where this gains lots of almost chewy depth and vivid perfumes of blue flowers and fruit with that spicy passion fruit pomegranate note found on the nose. A nice burst of minerality emerges on the moderately long finish. This is a bit young today but should prove to be terrific with another year of age on it. 89pts
