I got into wine about 50 years ago. Started with French wines and in the mid-seventies got into California wine. And now I am a fan of almost every popular wine region.

Review from original list creator: "Deep and earthy on the nose with rich carob, bitter cocoa and coriander notes framed in nougatty wood tones. The fruit is subtle, showing up with slightly herbal and dried black berry aromas. bright on entry, surprisingly so after the nose. This is vibrant and pure in the mouth with an odd early note of boiled peanuts that is followed by impressively pure blue fruits and lightly damson plummy flavors. the oak is well integrated, adding a little spice support but mostly staying out of the way of the fruit and earthy nuce. Everything is in balance, with the acids bright but integrated and the tannin adding just a dusty edge to the palate. This is complex and deep, though not terrible fruity. It’s an elegant wine that should sing in the company of the right food. A gorgeous veal roast with pancetta and morels for example! 92pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz
