Rue, Monrobiolo, Bussia the piece in Barolo, 5000 to 6000 bottles Deep violet and almond aromas on the nose are a little inky and show some complex graphite notes. Perfumy, rich and soft in the mouth, this shows some dusty tannins and mineral inflections on the palate along with brilliant, polished and beautiful flavors of black cherry and red berry fruit. Precise, sapid and long on the finish with grape skin flavors and a classic bitter almond finale. Superb Dolcetto in a truly classic style. 93pts

  • 943463Bill Davis Here is one of my favs: Whidbey Island, WA Dolcetto 2012 $25.00 / Classic Style / "A sassy little Italian number that will tease your tongue with a briarpatch full of berry flavors and elusive notes of pomegranate, vanilla and graphite. Dolcetto is the everyday wine in its native Piedmont and has quickly become a staff favorite here at the winery. Its generous flavors and lively acidity make it a great pair with grilled meats, especially game, and tomato sauced pastas. Molto Italiano." (GOLD: Seattle Wine Awards, 2014.) Source:
