1 Terlano Chardonnay Kreuth (2010)
Comments: Apple blossom and soft, gentle fruits greet the nose followed by lots of low honey and floral aromas. This is very elegant in the mouth with lively fruit, crisp and yet sweet apple flavors with a hint of pear skin and even a little apricot on the palate. Round and soft on the midpalate, then this tightens up on the long finish with a hint of dusty pollen and some nice dusty mineral notes as well. Awfully nice, and well balanced. 91pts

2 Erste Neue Chardonnay Puntay (2010)
Comments: A bit woody on the nose with sweet, creamy, lime drenched apple fruit, topped with hints of heather, honey and raw oak nuttiness. This is creamy on entry, soft and rather full with nice balance showing a freshness to the fruit with the citrus top notes in the mouth over lightly creamy pear and apple fruit, all wrapped in light banana and vanilla notes. This turns a bit toasty on the finish, which is short at first but the acid drives this along. Kind of sexy in an understated way, this is actually a bit more finally textured than this note reads. 90pts

3 Schreckbichl Colterenzio Chardonnay Altkirch (2011)
Comments: A little leesy on the nose with nice dried lemon, dried nut and pollen notes. Very light and elegant right up front then this gains some weight on the plate but remains elegant and rather finely balanced with apple fruit showing a little dried citrus peel accent. Very fine and clean on the moderately long finish, ending with a hint of lessiness, and some mineral, good length. This is a little Chablis like. 88pts

4 Erste Neue Chardonnay Salt (2011)
Comments: Floral with a hint of old wood in the background, this has the sweetness of golden apples along with a little honeycomb on the nose. Sweetish on entry this quickly turns very tense with nice cut due to some late arriving vibrant acids. This does fill the mouth, turning quite broad yet remaining tense with super minerality on the palate, and through the moderately long finish. 88pts
