Top 10 wines for a summer BBQ

Together with UK wine expert and TV presenter Joe Wadsack, I threw a BBQ on my last visit to London. Joe must have the best nose in the business (and is freakishly good at wine tastings), and I got him to pick a case of wines from Majestic Wines, none (except the champagne) over 15 GBP (ca 22 USD). They were excellent! Read about the BBQ, the winning wines and the food here:

Out of the 14 bottles we drank, these are my top 10. All worth every penny and more.

4. Domaine Chandon Australia Champagne Blend Green Point

I generally never approve of sparklers from outside the Champagne region. Other French sparkling wines, like Cremant de Bourgogne or Cremant de Loire, can be ok. This time, however, an Aussie bubbly from the Domaine Chandon (called Domaine Greenpoint in the UK) surprised me with balance, bone-dry freshness, and lots of lovely little bubbles. Definitely a good budget alternative to champagne!
