Top 10 wines for a summer BBQ

Together with UK wine expert and TV presenter Joe Wadsack, I threw a BBQ on my last visit to London. Joe must have the best nose in the business (and is freakishly good at wine tastings), and I got him to pick a case of wines from Majestic Wines, none (except the champagne) over 15 GBP (ca 22 USD). Out of the 14 bottles we drank, these are my top 10. All worth every penny and more.
 

1. Mont Redon Lirac Vignobles Abeille (2010)

Note: Possibly, the Vignobles Abeille is a special bottling for the UK/EU market. The regular Lirac from Mont Redon is excellent as well and highly recommended - it might even be the same one with another name! A complex, well balanced medium bodied red with well integrated alcohol. It's really the perfect red with meat, and the nice fresh red fruit it shows now makes it immediately enjoyable, though it can age for 10-15 years. Nice, dry tannins, good structure. Lovely wine at an amazing price for the quality.
