Soft and floral on the nose with a yeasty base under the delicate cherry, watermelon and chalk aromas. bright acid on entry slowly peels back revealing delicate earthy cherry fruit that shows subtle complexity. For a moment there this drinks more like a very light bottle of Burgundy than Rose, through the burst of fresh strawberry on the finish returns us to rose land. This gives the impression of being a bit young and odd as it may seem to say it, I think this will improve in the bottle. There’s a ton of gorgeous fruit here but it’s a bit tightly wrapped today, which does makes this loads of zesty fun right now.  90pts

  • 1307971Linda Murfin We've been drinking a Nages rose' from France. It is a Grenache/Syrah blend. It's about $12 in Charlotte. It has a very good balance from the up-front fruit all the way through the long finish. It's not too dry but just right for sipping by itself or along with a meal. I like it with a boneless pork rib cut that we put on the BBQ.

  • 103234Mern Wow, you didn't hit on any of our favorites! Mourchon Cotes du Rhone Villages, Laphran-Veyrolles Bandol, Abiouness Nates Rose, Miner Rosato, Fisher Unity, Lasseter Enjoue or Tablas Creek! Now that we have a pool in our backyard this is our favorite thing to share with friends and is perfect with barbecue!

  • 1308265mg39 One of the most satisfying roses I've ever had was last year's Sangiovese from Alexander Valley Vineyards. It was the house rose at one of DC's top Italian restaurants last year, beating out numerous Italian rosado contenders. I haven't found the 2012 version yet, but I'm looking. This year I've been very impressed by a rose using Bordeaux varietals from Kapascandy in Napa.
