Mostly I enjoy red wine, especially family owned chateaux of Juridiction Saint Emilion and Pomerol. In the cellar, though, there is a bit of everything. It is important for me to support Ontario wines.

1 Beamsville Bench Chardonnay Vqa (2008)
Comments: It looks like a lemon tart and smells a bit buttery. The first sip is a citrusy splash with a touch of caramel and spice. Perfect for an over-cast warm day.

3 The Old Third Vineyard Pinot Noir Prince Edward County Vqa (2010)
Comments: This wine has been allowed to age three years since I bought it at the winery. It could age longer. I used a Vinturi aerator to open it up a bit more. Without the Vinturi it was too acidic. Velvety red in colour. Raspberry, currant, and something like pecan on the nose. High in tannins and quite acidic. Another year would make this more full. I think this wine has great promise. The warm buttery fruit will be so rich. It is a shame I opened it now. I'll enjoy what I can. Not disappointing to taste something with so much early potential.
