Rank Wine Rating Price
1 Graffigna Pinot Grigio Centenario White (2011)
Comments: Bright and juicy on the nose with intense pear fruit, some dried lime peel and a dusty mineral note. Crisp with plenty of acid on the palate accenting the bitter apple and citrus fruit flavors. This shows a very vibrant character on the palate with a gently sweet shading to the fruit. The finish is a bit short and steely making this a good choice for shellfish and other light dishes. 85pts

2 Graffigna Centenario Reserve Malbec (2010)
Comments: Subtle cigar box oak greets the nose followed by sweet vanilla, a touch of ginger and dark plummy fruit topped with shaved bittersweet chocolate. Smooth and polished in the mouth with plenty of dark plummy fruit wrapped around nicely integrated oak spice. This is well knit together and supple in the mouth with a nice blend of sour plum and blackberry fruit that lasts over the long finish. This is rather elegant for malbec with a nice blend of delicacy and depth in the mouth. 88pts

3 Graffigna Cabernet Sauvignon Grand Reserve (2008)
Comments: This is rather subdued on the nose with any earthy base of oak, some gently minty and licorice top notes and a core of plummy black fruit. Round and rather lush on entry, this grows int he mouth with flavors that are a touch simple but very true to type. Rich black currant and spicy black cherry fruits are framed nicely by well integrated wood spice. There's a finely textured bed of supporting tannins here and bright acidity that keeps this fresh and juicy. The tannins show an edge of austerity on the finish, and more of a spicy wood tone, with the acid driving a nice blueberry fruit note right through t the finale. 88pts
