This is almost an unknown grape variety even amongst the Piemontese themselves! This wine is 100 % Nascetta and grown only in the Novello area within the Barolo wine area. I couldn't quite pinpoint the flavors because I got everything from aromas of aromatic herbs like sage, floral scents and citrus lime. On the palate it was fresh, zesty and had almost slightly too much acidity. However this white varietal can still get better with age. I would be curious to try it in a year or two. I was intrigued by this wine because it is such a unique variety! Cogno is probably the best known winemaker for this US sold wine.
Location: San Lazzaro Saluzzo, 12
Transplanted from Napa to PIemonte Italy... I blog for a passion about food, wine, and Italian culture. For now just discovering Piemonte one step (sip) at a time with big dreams to do wine tours in Italy. Hopefully I can help with any travel/wine ?'s!
