Thoroughly maroon, this wine shows alluring smells of bacon, mulberries and spruce. There is something primary, secondary and thoroughly exotic about it. This said, it’s definitely a wine for those who enjoy oak influence. A bit heavy on the palate, the wine shows soft acidity yet the tannins show good finesse. Medium finish. This wine is unforgiving when first opened; so, do splash decant at least one hour – and preferably two – before sipping.
