Comments: Intense and sensual wine, with a wonderful citrus nose and very small bubbles. Great intensity, and amazing freshness, layers of citrus and stone fruit, a little brioche and a few smoked manuka honey and mineral notes in the long finish. This really is a WOW wine!

  • 1193817Nanakulikane Does anyone realize why Dom Perignon commands the prices it does ? Answer = Advertising, that's basically it, nice packaging but if you really get down to it in a blind tasting you would be blown away at who the winners would be. If you know your stuff, you can hunt around and find real Champagnes from 100% 1 vineyard bottling s that sell for one heck of a lot less that that and are a lot better to boot. I remember one year finding a producer that Victoire imports had for $35.00 a btl. that blew the pants off all the big boys that year. A name isn't everything, a good nose and palate, the patience to look and find good value and let common sense prevail. A big price tag does not necessarily denote the best buy.
