Rank Wine Rating Price
1 Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Grand Estates (2010)
Comments: I'm a big fan of Columbia Crest & Chateau Ste. Michelle. Their wines are always spot-on for the variety or the blend in the bottle. This is juicy and darkly-fruited with blackberry & black currant at center stage. Evergreen notes dance in the background. A satisfying wine that offers super value.

2 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Indian We (2007)
Comments: When I say it, I mean it! Chateau Ste Michelle makes great wine. What a mighty fine vintage was 2007 in WA. Indian Wells is a warm site, so this wine tends to be more lush than other CSM wines. If you like Napa, check this out.

3 Chateau Ste. Michelle Cold Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Chateau Ste. Michelle-Usa-Washington State-Woodinville Ltr (2007)
Comments: By this point, you have to admit that I'm consistent. I'm a BIG Washington red wine fan, and I think CSM OVER-delivers on the price to quality ratio. This is PURE Cabernet with minerality, oomph and finish. Buckle up!

4 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District (2009)
Comments: Philip Togni makes some of Napa's most elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. This is mountain fruit, so there is a fine dance between the generous fruit and the ripe tannins and supporting acidity. It's quite a waltz.

5 Meerlust Rubicon Red Cabernet Sauvingnon (2004)
Comments: Meerlust is an iconic Cabernet blend producer in South Africa. This wine ages well, and better yet, it is often several years old by the time it reaches the US market. The aging has been done for you in the winery's cellars! The price is reasonable, especially for aged wine, and the wine is nice mid-way point between Old and New Worlds.
