5 Top Rated Australian Riesling

This has an interesting nose, a little trail mix-like with a hint of nuttiness and some suggestions of dried apricot, all tossed with freshly grated lime zest and a hint of coconut. This is fairly ripe and at the same time manages to be clear and even a little tense on the palate, with lime flavors accented with a hint of red berry fruit and slight honey and toasty nuances. This is lovely in the mouth but it’s also rather front-loaded with a lightly lemony finish that shows a hint of engaging austerity. 87pts

  • 79282gerrad of course, u cant get a lot of aussie stuff in usa..but i agree with micheal n chooch- being from west oz.; add la violetta, howard park, gilberts, galafrey, castle rock est.,plantagenet 012 (just cleaned up 3 trophies), 3drops, forest hill..and they all make reds and whites of most varieties u can name. otherwise, eden valley (henschke, pewsey vale) or clare valley (grosset, knappstein, paulett) or tasmania (bay of fires, tamar ridge, glaetzer-dixon etc.)..id add seppelt drumborg, leo buring leonay and anything by flavour-of-the-month par excellence- larry cherubino! keep up the good work.
