Terlano Chardonnay Kreuth 2010

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Apple blossom and soft, gentle fruits greet the nose followed by lots of low honey and floral aromas. This is very elegant in the mouth with lively fruit, crisp and yet sweet apple flavors with a hint of pear skin and even a little apricot on the palate. Round and soft on the midpalate, then this tightens up on the long finish with a hint of dusty pollen and some nice dusty mineral notes as well. Awfully nice, and well balanced. 91pts

In Terlano, the wine-making tradition dates back more than 2000 years. Mild microclimatic conditions give the wines certain unique characteristics, thus adding a special flavor to them. Terlano’s unique position at the foot of Mount Tschöggel is a key to the development of the vineyards. The southfacing slopes are ideal for grape growing. The porphyry rocks accumulate warmth and the porous soil allows the water to drain, keeping the soil dry around the roots of the wines. The Cooperative of Terlano was founded in 1893. Today it has over 100 associates trained and specialized in natural viticulture. Together they keep the rich tradition with important innovative elements alive. The fruits of this accurated process are aged in modern cellars under strictly controlled conditions. Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
