Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc 2011
Winemaker's Notes:
"This wine is characterized by its soft yellow colour with green highlights. The nose expresses a complex range of aromas such as lime, white peach, prickly pear, pineapple, green apple, lychee and mango. One finds select vegetal notes of chives and boxwood. The palate is consistent, lively and fresh with good volume and a remarkable persistence. To enjoy the wine fully, it should be drunk young, within two years." --Winemaker's notes

Member Reviews for Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc
Add your reviewI was about to review this and then I noticed my reviews of previous vintages for this and they would have been exactly the same. Kudos to Los Vascos for making a very consistent wine from year to year.
This is the big producer in my list and it goes to show that larger producers aren't all about churning out wine in mass. This is a well crafted and continually improving Sauvignon Blanc. Honestly the 2010 vintage didn't stand out for me, but the 2011 is something different. From Chile's Casablanca valley this Sauvignon Blanc can be found all across the US and is very accessible, it's also quite good. It lacks the pyrazine (Bell Pepper notes/flavors) characteristics of other Chilean's SB's and is a great introduction to Sauvignon Blanc from Chile if it is new to you.
