L'Aventure Côte à Côte 2009
94-96 points Rhone Report: A similar blend as the '08, The 2009 Cote-a-Cote is a mix of 42% Grenache, 33% Syrah, and 25% Mourvedre. Full bodied and gorgeously built, this is loaded with potential and displays pure cassis and blackberry fruits with supporting notes of licorice, smoke, and earthy undertones. Impressive on the fruit front, this shows superb structure with a very long, tannic finish. It should evolve for 3 to 5 years after release and drink well for 10 to 12 years. (Nov 2010)

He has spent the last 10 years creating a world class vineyard from which he meticulously composes top quality, handcrafted blends.
Interesting to taste this again a couple of years later. I'd have to say I like it more now than on release. Smoke, leather, black pepper, blackberries and cherries -- cinnamon, cocoa and a bit of cream. Well balanced and just awesome.

(42% grenache 33% syrah and 25% mourvedre raised in 50% new oak): Vivid ruby. Explosive aromas of black raspberry boysenberry incense and star anise with a hint of vanilla. Bright and energetic with excellent clarity to its sweet berry and cherry-cola flavors. A suave floral nuance gains strength with air and carries through the very long spicy seamless finish.
