Las Lamas. Descendientes de J.Palacios 2005
Farmed at 15 hl/hr on a precipitous bed-rock of schist, some at an altitude ofover 700 metres, this wine is the sine qua non of Alvaro Palacio'sadventure in Bierzo. A powerful nose with eucalypt and liqueur de cassis to thefore, leading onto a dense but very finely textured palate with notes oftobacco and peat beneath the dense dark fruit. A wine to watch, drinking2012-2020 and maybe beyond! (Simon Field MW, BBR Buyer)
Intense dark fruit, structured for the long haul with firm tannins and bright acidity. An eye-opening wine from Bierzo.
Hardly any aroma at all, this wine had rich cranberry flavors and dusty tannins.
Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black currants, black licorice, plums, floral elements and a bit of cocoa. Flavors of black berries and black cherries. Medium acidity, firm tannins, medium body. Drink over the short to medium term. from www.vinocellar.com - 06/02/2007
Excellent! Smooth tannins, lots of fruit. Great bargain.
