Justino Henriques Malmsey 1933
Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:
Tight and minty on the nose with the small of old parchment bound books. This really gains clarity as it turns bright and precise on the nose with a touch of blackberry jam that plays off darker coffee tones. Lean and bright in the mouth with a fresh fruit profile but lacking a bit of flesh ont he finish. Good length, decent length. 91pts

Add your reviewIf you really want to know the full potential of Madeira wines, this is the place to start. The 5 and 10-year old wines are nice, but I don't think they quite fully portray the power and finesse that Madeira has....certainly not like this. Deep reddish brown with a tan rim. On the nose a lot of toffee and spice with some allspice and caramel notes coming through. On the palatte - raisins and prunes and some nuttiness and more toffee. The finish goes on for minutes. It reminds me a lot of Colheita (vintage tawny) ports that are 40 years old or older, but this (being a Madeira) is still distinctly different. I paid a bit under $200 for my bottle and I think it's a good buy at that price point. --A
