Dom des Baumaed Chaume 2004
"The Baumard 2004 Savennieres introduces a fascinatingly musky, _animale_ suggestion to a nose otherwise dominated by lemon, grapefruit and peach. In the mouth, it blossoms to layers of fresh peach and quince, brine and chalk minerality, finishing persistently with musky florality, anise, and subtle bitterness of herbs, alkaline minerality, and fruit skin."Robert Parker's Wine Advocate*This item has been reduced for the Closeout Sale. Hold these back for a bit--very restrained now, mostly minerals with layers of chalk, stone, and just the finest layer of citrus. Will be fabulous once its had some time.
Oily, woody, light fruit. Pine woodsy. Biggish body. Very interesting. Lemon. Maybe over the hill?
External Reviews for Dom des Baumaed Chaume
Pure, with a porcelain like texture supporting mineral, lime and quince flavors that run along a rapier of a finish. Shows great precision and clarity. Drink now through 2012. 1,500 cases made.
This is still tight, but shows piercing intensity to the lime, mineral, quince and pear flavors. The long, stony finish really reverberates. Could use a little time. Drink now through 2011. 5,000 cases made. -JM Wine Spectator. A Chenin Blanc wine from Loire Valley in France. 2004 Domaine des Baumard Savennieres 750ml
